International Driving Permit Checker (https://idp.bordertriptools.com) is monetized through affiliate links. Transparency rules — the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) in the United States and consumer-protection law in the EU — require us to tell you clearly when a link can earn us money. This page is that statement.

Active affiliate programs

• Amazon Associates (tracking tag bordertrip-20): the "Sources & method" section of the checker links to passport-photo kits on amazon.com, because the AAA/AATA application requires two 2×2-inch passport photos. If you buy through that link, the operator earns a commission from Amazon. The price you pay does not change. Each such link is marked "affiliate link" right next to it.

That is currently the only affiliate relationship on this site.

What is NOT affiliate

The links that carry the actual verdict are official, unpaid references:

• AAA and AATA — the only two issuers authorized by the U.S. State Department to sell IDPs to US drivers.
• U.S. State Department country information pages.
• United Nations treaty registries for the Geneva 1949 and Vienna 1968 road-traffic conventions.

We receive no compensation from any of these organizations. Nobody pays to appear in a verdict — verdicts are computed from a versioned dataset of treaty and government sources, never from commercial relationships.

A warning about paid "IDP" sellers

No online seller can issue a legitimate "instant digital IDP". For US drivers, only AAA and AATA are authorized. We will never link to unauthorized IDP vendors — affiliate or otherwise.
